Distributor VIP Computers has announced its sales director, Dave Stevinson, has today quit the firm.

Stevinson handed in his resignation earlier this week, in order, he says, to “take on a new challenge.”

In a statement released to the press, he says he plans “to spend a few months relaxing before seeking a new assignment.”

He states: “I have had two immensely enjoyable years at the company and feel that the VIP is now suitably poised within the industry and blessed with a very capable management team. In my time there I was able to help shape an exciting strategic transition and work alongside some talented vendors, customers and colleagues.

“I would like to formally extend my thanks to my close friend and colleague Jatti Sahni; the chairman of VIP Group, for giving me the opportunity to be part of the VIP journey.

“I look forward to staying in touch and finally would like to thank you all for the assistance, business, support, tolerance and friendship that you have shown to me over the years.”

There has been no word yet on his replacement.

UPDATE: Following VIP's announcement that it is to merge with Realtime Distribution, it has said Stevinson will be replaced by Richard Marsden as sales director.
