Signify looks to grow channel

Network monitoring solution

Two-factor authentication (2FA) specialist Signify has signed Softcat as part of plans to expand its UK channel.

The Cambridge-based firm is RSA’s only Managed Security Service Provider for Secure ID technology in Europe and maintains a channel of 12 key partners including Kelway, Serco and Fujitsu.

According to CEO Dave Abraham, the vendor is looking to grow its number of partners, whether this comes from new resellers or getting closer to existing partners. “Softcat is the ideal partner for us,” says Abraham, “With over 20 years in business, Softcat has an enviable reputation for being genuinely independent and completely focused on the needs of its customers to provide them with the right solutions.”

Signify’s fully-hosted 2FA software enables secure remote access to systems, applications and information. It says the service makes it easy and cost-effective for resellers to capitalise on the growth in flexible working and deliver secure remote access with a range of token and tokenless authentication options. Signify also offers hardware and software tokens as well as SMS One Time Passcodes to support both small businesses and larger enterprises users of its services.

“Many businesses are worried about IT security and Signify’s hosted approach makes it easy for our customers to implement more secure remote access to their corporate networks,” comments Matt Helling, network and security manager at Softcat. “We can offer customers the benefits of two-factor authentication without the hassle of implementing and running it themselves.” The deal strengthens Softcat’s security portfolio which includes Kaspersky, Symantec and Trend Micro and compliments its current RSA Premier Partner accreditation.

Although Signify does not sell direct, the firm is offering implementation services through the channel. According to Abraham, the majority of partners choose this and also provide support, “but it is flexible and very much down to what the partner requires,” he adds.
