F-Secure unveils new usage-based security model

Cyber security provider F-Secure has adjusted its unified, integrated cyber security solution to support usage-based pricing throughout its partner network.

The move aims to provide service partners and their customers with operational efficiency, smooth deployment, and flexibility, as more employees continue to work remotely and collaborate via cloud platforms.

Customers can now choose between paying a monthly subscription for what they use if the traditional model of yearly or multi-yearly license commitments is unsuitable.

Ensuring that remote operations are secure is vitally important, the provider says – especially at a time when companies struggle to attract skilled specialists, capable of thwarting attacks and managing in-house security.

“The pandemic accelerated demand for subscription-based managed security services, and service providers who meet this demand will set their business up for the future,” explained Niko Isotalo, Director of Product Management at F-Secure.

According to F-Secure’s own 2020 B2B Market Research Study, over 70% of mid-market and enterprise companies already outsource at least some security operations to MSPs, with 60% of those seeing their provider as a key security partner.

The provider’s unified cyber security offering includes a full spectrum of AI-powered organisational security solutions for more streamlined security. The solution allows for vulnerability management, endpoint protection, cloud collaboration protection, as well as detection and response to be managed from a single platform.

Partners also have access to a host of complimentary services to equip them with cyber security expertise and help attract and maintain customers, the firm says.

F-Secure’s unique system of partner support includes cyber security training, technical service manager availability, integration support, as well as sales and marketing campaigns. Partners can also escalate the toughest cases to the provider’s elite teams of cyber security special consultants.

Now, the new usage-based security model will also enable businesses to pay for what they need and scale-on-demand without purchasing unnecessary resources, F-Secure said.

“Companies get smooth deployment without the up-front costs of traditional licensing,” Isotalo continued. “And service partners realise healthier, more consistent margins, easier cross-sell opportunities, and increased customer lifetime.”
