Intel Security has announced the appointment of Andrew Elder as its new president of EMEA operations.

Elder (pictured) will lead the operations and growth strategy for the vendor’s EMEA business.

He joins from Rovi Corporation and Intellectual Ventures, having previously spent 13 years at Cisco.

“Andrew is an exceptional business leader with more than 25 years of experience with high-tech companies,” comments Scott Lovett, executive VP of worldwide sales. “His deep understanding of new technologies and the rapidly evolving cybersecurity landscape gives Elder the perspective and experience needed to help businesses overcome the seemingly incessant security challenges they face today.”

“There are infinite possibilities just within reach for organisations, but many are held back from truly harnessing the opportunities that abound in technologies like IoT, Big Data or Mobile because of the security risk,” says Elder. “This has to change. Security is an enabler for the technologies of tomorrow, but only when it’s built in from the start and is pervasive and integrated.”
