Telent has appointed ex-Daisy Group executive Shani Latif as sales director, with her key responsibilities working closely with service providers to offer end-users solid product portfolios.

Latif’s team will be focused on business development, finding new ways to integrate security solutions in Telent’s broad range of offerings. She believes her experience puts her in an advantageous position, helping the company support the needs of service providers and making them more profitable.

“Our mission critical customers trust Telent not only with their datacentres but with their lives – from the blue light sector to the big service providers like Sky and BT – we deliver life critical networks on a daily basis,” she said.

“My role will see us providing the full range of Telent services to our customers, whilst broadening our net new customer base. There will be an increased focus on our security practise, this is a prominent arena for our customers who entrust telent with their critical infrastructure, and therefore a strong security offering is the natural next step for us.”

Latif has a broad range of experience in the security space. She joined Scalable Communications in 2004, working through the ranks to become public sector manager, enterprise sales manager and head of the company’s service provider division in 2013.

When Scalable was acquired by Alternative Networks in 2010 and subsequently by Daisy Group in 2016, Latif had gained extensive experience working with the public sector, private enterprises and service providers. This gave her the ideal CV for leading Telent’s service provider initiatives.

“We’re delighted to have Shani on-board and are confident that her addition to the team will further enhance the services we provide,” added Joe Pincus, business development director at Telent.
