Ingram Micro has added Dell's Mozy Backup to Cloud Marketplace, offering its partners the opportunity to sell the company's cloud backup service to customers looking to modernise their infrastructure.

Ingram Micro's MSPs, VARs, systems integrators and ISV partners will be able to buy, configure and manage Mozy backup via its automated platform, which is available from the Cloud Marketplace.

“Alongside infrastructure and services, a secure backup capability is one of three strategic pillars for the Ingram Micro Ecosystem of Cloud, which were identified in alignment with core areas of forecasted growth in the channel," Apay Obang-Oyway, director of cloud and software, UK&I at Ingram Micro said.

"According to the Cloud Industry Forum, cloud adoption remains high with 78% of organisations using cloud services today and 63% foreseeing their entire data estates being hosted in the cloud.

The solution offered by Ingram Micro comprises the company's automated backup software, which allows businesses to schedule when they want their data to be backed up, alongside Mozy Sync to provide access to a user's files and folders across devices while the original data remains backed up in the cloud.

“As the threat of cyber attacks and data hacks grow, backup systems are already at the top of end-users’ agendas and are in the minds of the C-suite as a matter of concern,” Obang-Oyway added.

“Customers are going to be looking at their technology providers for protection, prevention, detection, mitigation, and total expertise to ensure that systems stay safe should data loss occur. Partners have a great opportunity to engage their customers on taking the necessary steps to ensure that if the worst happens, they will be able to retrieve important assets.
