Logicalis has kicked off the search for a new CEO after Ian Cook yesterday announced he is quitting the post to takeover from current Logicalis Group chairman Jens Montanana.

The firm says it will undertake “a comprehensive search process” to identify its next CEO, taking on a leading executive recruiting firm to help with the hunt.

Cook will assume the role of chairman at the end of the financial year, but says he will continue with his executive duties during the transition period to ensure a smooth handover.

Under Cook’s leadership since March 2007, Logicalis has more than doubled its revenues to more than £1bn.

Comments Datatec CEO Montanana: “Ian has done an outstanding job in leading the organisation and has transformed the business model, creating a significant international brand providing similar solutions and services in over 20 countries.

“The company and its stakeholders are grateful for his considerable contribution to the organisation and we welcome Ian’s continued involvement as Chairman of Logicalis and are confident that it is well positioned for continued success.”

Cook joined Logicalis in 2003, initially as CEO European operations, before his appointment as Group CEO in early 2007. Prior to that, he worked at Siemens Network Systems Ltd (SNSL) for 10 years, where he held the position of Group managing director European operations.

In another high profile move, Logicalis UK MD Tom Kelly quit his post in earlier this year, and was replaced by Mark Starkey.

The Logicalis Group is a division of Datatec Limited, which has with revenues of more than $5bn.
