SolarWinds acquires SpamExperts

Hand pointing to email in the cloud

SolarWinds has bought email security solution provider SpamExperts to help the MSP strengthen its proposition for businesses looking to purchase an email security managed service.

SolarWinds will integrate SpamExperts' SaaS-based mail protection and mail archiving services into its SolarWinds MSP Mail line, tagging on an intelligent threat engine to its offering.

Other benefits made available via the acquisition will be better reliability and stability, and the ability to white label the service, making it a top choice for businesses that want to appear as if they have ownership of their email security solution.

SpamExperts' technology can be deployed either on-premise or in the cloud and offers value-added services such as incoming (spam and virus) filtering, outgoing filtering, and email archiving. These will all benefit SolarWinds when it launches further products in its SolarWinds MSP product portfolio later in the year.

"When we look at ways to build an even better MSP solution platform, we think first about what that means to our customers and their unique business objectives," stated John Pagliuca, general manager, SolarWinds MSP.

"The acquisition of SpamExperts will help MSPs deliver even more secure and robust mail protection and management, which is a foundational part of a successful IT service provider's business."

Neither SpamExperts nor SolarWinds have revealed how the two companies will work together, when the deal's expected to close or who on the staff will join SolarWinds, although more details about this and how it will affect SpamExperts' existing customers will be revealed over the coming month.

"We're excited to have the opportunity to leverage the global expertise of this proven SaaS company, whose focus on superior customer satisfaction and true market disruption aligns perfectly with ours," Pagliuca added.
