CAE Technology Services acquires Novus Group

CAE Technology Services has announced the acquisition of the Novus Group, as the infrastructure technology solutions provider moves to strengthen its Microsoft practice.

CAE said the takeover will enhance its own technical capability thanks to Novus’ depth of expertise, as well as help drive growth for the Novus brand itself. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Post-acquisition, Novus will keep its branding thanks to the strong position it has attained in the education market. The company’s staff will also be retained, while managing director Donald Allison will continue to lead the business.

“This deal is fundamentally about the people and their opportunity to grow with their customers, on both a business and personal level,” commented Justin Harling, CAE chief executive. “Everyone across the two organisations will be retained and will have the opportunity to apply their expertise in new and exciting ways.”

CAE said the Novus acquisition will mean more skills available to help drive transformation from integrating innovative Microsoft cloud, workspace and security solutions into a wider portfolio of infrastructure services that its own business already delivers.

“Where opportunity exists to augment our capabilities, we will look at acquisitions as a way of accelerating our organic growth,” Harling continued.

“This acquisition will ensure we continue to build outstanding long-term partnerships with all our customers, and that we can help drive transformation agendas, which need multi-skilled and trusted advisors.”

Formed in 1999, Cheshire-based Novus specialises in the delivery of innovative application delivery technologies, which include a range of thin client and virtualised solutions. As well as its wealth of Microsoft expertise, the company is also a technology partner for HPE, VMware, Veeam and Citrix.

Allison said the two businesses are aligned on both a technical and cultural level.

“We share the belief that by developing people we can go out and offer the best possible customer experience,” he said. “By being part of CAE, we can provide an environment that is focussed on long term growth and building on the amazing efforts of our employees so far.”

The move comes just weeks after CAE unveiled a new multi-million pound HQ and logistics centre in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.
