Embotics mounts channel challenge
New programme includes tools for VARs to grow licence and service opportunities, says firm

Private cloud management specialist Embotics has launched its first partner programme aimed at recruiting VARs across Europe.
Embotics says the new programme is designed to help its channel partners grow their revenue streams by offering their mid-sized customers easy-to-deploy virtualisation and private cloud management capabilities using its V-Commander product.
The Canadian company, which entered the EMEA market late last year and signed a pan-European distribution agreement with Magirus in January, reckons V-Commander is a is a more cost-effective solution than its competitors, making it attractive for midmarket organisations – particularly those that have already virtualised their IT environments but are now looking to improve the efficiency of their virtual datacentres by creating private clouds.
While competitors like VMware’s vCloud Director and DynamicOps operate at enterprise level, Embotics says it is purely focusing on these mid-sized companies.
“There has been rapid growth in the virtualisation space in recent years, with many resellers doing a great job selling VM (virtual machine) hypervisors and generating licence revenue. However, to date many have struggled to make much services revenue,” says Martin Sajkowski, director of international operations at Embotics (pictured).
“Virtualisation management and private cloud enablement technologies can be expensive and complex to deploy, which can be a barrier to resellers going the extra yard with customers. Embotics V-Commander is highly-accessible and cost-effective software which enables our partners to quickly offer value-added services and demonstrate ROI to their customers,” he adds.
According to the firm, Embotics V-Commander can be installed and configured “in a matter of minutes” – something backed up by Computerworld’s John Armstrong, who describes Embotics V-Commander as “an easy-to-install solution…which has allowed us to quickly initiate private cloud engagements with our customers.”

The new partner programme has two levels: Authorised Reseller and Elite Reseller, offering partners discounts of up to 25 percent. All partners will benefit from priority on-boarding, including onsite business and technical training; ongoing marketing support; as well as pre- and post-sales support.
Embotics will support VARs’ lead-generation activities such as direct marketing campaigns and webinars, and provide templates on how to use Embotics V-Commander for high-value service engagements. The vendor says it will also provide channel partners with extensive support to close important deals.
“Taking customers on journey from a virtual to a cloud infrastructure is a challenge for many resellers but at the same time it provides them with a great opportunity to grow their businesses. Through our new partner programme we aim to provide resellers with the tools and support they require to boost their service revenues as more customers look to embrace the cloud,” adds Sajkowski.
