Softcat has opened the doors to its new Leeds office – it’s fifth in the UK.

The VAR, which reported revenues of £504m last year, now says its scouting for new staff to fill the premises.

Softcat Leeds is looking to hire at least 30 staff in 2015, primarily to fill new sales roles, and is searching for new talent in Yorkshire and the North East, particularly recent or soon-to-be graduates, who will receive full on-the-job training.

Ashley Bilham, who is heading up the new office, says the premises represent an opportunity for the firm to increase its northern presence: “So far we’ve got 11 staff on board, nine of whom have come directly from our Manchester office and have brought the unique energy of Softcat’s culture with them. There’s a rich talent pool in Yorkshire – we’re looking to boost our current numbers to 40 this year, increasing moving forwards.”

“The new Leeds office is a great opportunity for new team members to step up, especially those who’ve just left university or are looking for their second jobs,” adds Jamie Burke, Softcat’s sales director.

“We’ll ensure you continue to develop, and have fun while you do it. We’ve all got high hopes for the new office – we want it to become as successful as all other offices, and above all to be a place where people really enjoy coming to work.”
