Exertis promotes Richard Hinds to COO for UK and Ireland
Hinds will be in charge of finance, purchasing, logistics and customer service
Exertis has promoted ex-Flogas financial director Richard Hinds to UK and Ireland chief operating officer.
Hinds has spent the last three years as group finance director for the firm. In this latest role, which has been newly created to manage finance, purchasing, IT, logistics and customer services functions, he will report to Paul Bryan, managing director of the company's UK and Ireland division.
“Richard has created an excellent finance function in the last three years and I am confident that he can replicate his achievements in the added areas of responsibilities that he now has taken on in this new role,” Bryan said. “As we continue to grow our business, Richard and his experienced team of direct reports will ensure we deliver a consistently high level of service to our customers whenever they engage with Exertis.”
Hinds will directly manage Mark Kahr, Exertis UK purchasing director, Sion Wineyard, Exertis UK operations director, Nigel Arkwright, UK IT director and Meurig Evans, who has recently been promoted to Exertis UK and Ireland finance director, replacing Hinds in his previous role.
Before working at Flogas, Hinds worked at Speedy Hire in "various finance roles" for nine years and before that, as and senior auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
“I am delighted to be taking on this challenging role in what is an exciting time for Exertis as we continue to grow our business both organically and by acquisition,” Hinds commented. “The UK and Ireland businesses are in great shape and I am fortunate to be inheriting a highly capable team that has many years’ experience in their respective roles,” said Hinds.
