Comstor has signed an agreement to offer X-IO’s ‘Intelligent Storage Element’ (ISE) technology to Cisco resellers looking drive datacentre and cloud practices.
Comstor, part of Westcon Group, says the partnership initially covers the UK, France, and Germany but is expected to expand across EMEA in the coming months.
“As one of the only distributors focused on Cisco technology, we’re eliminating multiple distractions associated with choosing the right competitive cloud platform,” says Russell Blackburn, senior director of datacentre solutions, Comstor EMEA. “This translates into more time creating premier value-added data centre and cloud offerings – as well as faster revenue recognition. But to accelerate both traditional enterprise datacentres and cloud platforms, the infrastructure demands intelligent storage like the X-IO technology.”
X-IO’s ISE technology is available via hard disk drives (HDD), or real-time hybrid solutions with enterprise SSDs and HDDs. X-IO claims its “Zero Touch” approach and five-year warranty significantly reduce storage costs –lower power and cooling requirements as opposed to other high performance storage.
Says Roger Walton, vice president of X-IO EMEA: “Datacentre and cloud infrastructures demand the highest levels of availability and reliability – and effective, intelligent, and flexible storage is key to making that happen. Backed by years of development and research, X-IO actually solves real-life storage problems facing partners and their customers globally.
“As a top distributor of Cisco solutions, Comstor is a core element of our go-to-market; this will allow more resellers seamlessly build successful cloud practices.”
