Getronics offered second helpings by food firm

Man signing a contract

Getronics has announced it has won a five year renewal of its contract with food wholesaler Booker Group worth €14m (£11m).

The extension sees Getronics continue to provide a range of IT services to Booker, which has been a customer of the service provider for 25 years. These include service desk, on-site desktop support, application services, hosting and infrastructure services.

Booker Group plc now comprises Booker Wholesale, Makro, Booker Direct, Classic Drinks, Ritter Courivaud, Chef Direct and Booker India, offering branded and private-label goods to 1.5m customers including independent convenience stores, grocers, pubs and restaurants.

Getronics will continue to support Booker’s warehouse management systems and other strategic applications, which support the 200 branches and five distribution centres. Historically, Getronics has been responsible for enhancing Booker’s bespoke warehouse management applications, as well as ensuring processes were suited to today’s mobile workforce.

Mark Cook, Group CEO at Getronics comments: “This extension is testament to the high quality of services Getronics has delivered to the customer over the last two decades. Today, we are focused on continuing to build on this success, helping Booker to both increase the effectiveness of its operation and grow its customer base. The retail industry is incredibly competitive and continues to evolve at a rapid pace – we are proud to continue supporting Booker as it continues to grow as Britain’s leading wholesale food operator.”
