Logicalis Group has today announced former Logica and BT exec Gary Bullard as its new chief executive, with effect from March 1, 2014.

Bullard (pictured) – who will succeed Ian Cook who is retiring as CEO but will become non-executive chairman of the Group – was most recently UK CEO and president of Australia, Middle East and Asia for Logica plc. Prior to that, he was managing director of BT’s corporate business unit and president of BT Global Services.

He has also more than 20 years in senior executive positions at IBM, including general manager, IBM global services EMEA and general manager, IBM Global Solutions, a $12bn unit based out of New York.

Logicalis launched a search for a new CEO in September when Cook announced he was quitting the post to take over from current Logicalis Group chairman Jens Montanana.

Comments Cook: “We are extremely pleased that Gary with his international industry experience and proven track record is joining us to lead Logicalis. Gary has led some significant IT services organisations that deliver long-term complex services to their clients”.

“With over 2300 services professionals in 24 countries, Logicalis is actively investing in expanding its services skills, capabilities, platforms and processes and Gary’s experience will be valuable in continuing to build on this strategy, and I am very pleased to welcome him on board,” he adds.

Bullard, who joins Logicalis in December 2013 as CEO designate, comments: “I’m excited to be joining Logicalis and see a strong foundation on which to build momentum for growth specifically in the areas of software defined networks, enterprise mobility and cloud solutions.

“Logicalis is very well positioned to exploit these fast growing areas and I am grateful for the opportunity to lead Logicalis into a new era of growth and success.”

The Logicalis Group is a division of Datatec Limited, with revenues of more than $5bn.
