Spectra Logic appoints Brian Grainger VP of worldwide sales
Industry veteran to head up worldwide sales for the data protection specialist.
Data protection vendor Spectra Logic has promoted Brian Grainger to vice president of worldwide sales, overseeing all global sales functions, processes and management.
Grainger brings more than 17 years of sales, product management and sales management experience in technology and data storage, as well as expertise in the Federal and high performance computing (HPC) sectors.
“We are pleased to expand Brian Grainger’s role to lead Spectra Logic’s sales efforts worldwide,” says Nathan Thompson, Spectra Logic’s CEO. “During the past year, Spectra Logic achieved revenue growth and strong sales in enterprise and mid-range solutions, despite a tough economy – and we continue to experience growing customer demand for our data protection solutions.”
Grainger joined Spectra Logic in 2001 as the regional sales director of Southeast commercial sales. In 2004, he founded the Federal sales division of the company, which now comprises more than one-quarter of North American revenue. Since building the company’s Federal team and efforts, Grainger has served as regional VP of Southeast commercial and Federal sales. He was also instrumental in developing and building Spectra Logic’s HPC business.
“I am honoured to lead worldwide sales for Spectra Logic and look forward to the opportunity strengthen our sales organisation worldwide,” says Grainger. “With Spectra Logic’s industry-leading tape and disk-based data protection solutions, we excel at helping organisations intelligently design backup, recovery and archive solutions that meet their business objectives, lower risk and reduce operating expenses.”
Prior to Spectra Logic, Grainger held sales, sales management and product management positions with OnStream, Gates/Arrow, Seagate and Conner Peripherals.
