Rob Tomlin becomes Dell's UK & Ireland channel boss
He will help channel partners seek new opportunities by building relationships
Dell EMC has appointed ex-Tech Data Advanced Solutions boss Rob Tomlin as channel chief for its UK and Ireland operation. He will be tasked with growing relationships with channel partners in the region, helping them find new opportunities with Dell products and services to make them more profitable.
Tomlin has a strong presence in the channel sector, making him the perfect candidate for the role. Before joining Tech Data Advanced Solutions as managing director of its UK and Ireland region, he was business unit director at Azlan and before that, Specialist Distribution Group (SDG).
“Rob’s appointment comes at an exciting time as the Dell EMC Partner Program gets firmly into its stride 20 months after its official launch,” said Michael Collins, senior vice president of the channel division at Dell EMC EMEA.
“More and more partners are joining our Partner Program, and our customer and partner satisfaction scores are breaking previous records. All this has contributed to double digit growth across all of our strategic lines of business in the UK and Ireland.
Tomlin has replaced Sarah Shields, who has now moved on to lead Dell EMC's channel efforts across Europe. Her focus is on helping businesses embrace digital transformation to build their product portfolios and enable their end users to select the right technologies for their needs.
Although Shields started he new role at Dell EMC two months ago, Tomlin will not join the company until the fourth quarter of the year.
"Under Rob’s leadership, we are confident we will drive even greater success, not only for the Dell EMC business, but also for our partners in the UK and Ireland,” Collins added.
