Everest Group has announced the appointment of Ross Tisnovsky as partner to lead the expansion of its CIO Research and Advisory Practice.
The move forms part of the company’s broader strategy to support CIOs navigating the increasingly complex digital and AI landscape, as well as evolving demands around digital transformation, AI adoption, and operational performance.
Tisnovsky rejoins Everest Group after a 12-year spell at McKinsey & Company, where he co-founded and led McKinsey Solution Ignite, a technology-enabled service line focused on IT performance improvement.
He also brings extensive experience across technology strategy, operational excellence, and data-driven decision-making.
Tisnovsky originally joined the business in 2006, during which time he founded and led the company’s IT Outsourcing research service line to help enterprises optimize their outsourcing strategies.
In an announcement, Everest Group CEO Jimit Arora said Tisnovsky’s appointment comes at a time when the role of CIO is undergoing significant change.
“The role of the CIO has never been more critical or more complex,” he explained. “Organizations are increasingly relying on technology leaders to navigate the AI journey. This is not only to drive efficiency, but to unlock growth, accelerate value from digital investments, and shape enterprise-wide transformation across markets.”

Arora described the scale of interdependence and pace of change as "unprecedented" – creating demand for more data-driven insight and advisory support.
“CIOs need trusted partners who can provide rigorous, data-driven insights and contextual intelligence to support high-stakes decisions”, he added. “Ross brings exactly that combination of experience, vision, and leadership to this role.”
Expanded support for CIOs
Under Tisnovsky’s leadership, Everest’s expanded CIO practice will combine the organization's global research capabilities with a strong focus on IT performance improvement and actionable insight.
The firm said the initiative will help CIOs make faster, more informed decisions as businesses increasingly look to balance innovation with operational resilience and cost efficiency.
The enhanced offering will combine deep research, practitioner engagement, and contextual intelligence with a differentiated model designed to transform peer benchmarking into actionable decision support.
Commenting on his appointment, Tisnovsky said the role of CIO is being reshaped by the pace of change across technology and business environments.
“This is an incredibly exciting time to rejoin Everest Group. The CIO role is being redefined in real time, and traditional research approaches are no longer sufficient,” he explained. “I look forward to building a practice that helps CIOs lead with clarity, confidence, and at speed.”
